Uncovering Lies and Discovering Truth
Uncovering lies of the enemy should be our quest in life. However uncovering his lies isn’t enough. We must be prayerful in seeking the truth which is to replace these lies. The scriptures say “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). I’d like to focus on the “rightly dividing the Word of Truth” portion of this verse for a moment. It’s discovering truth within “the Word of Truth” which is the bible, that replaces the lies we may have been exposed to all our lives. The truth, when embraced will make one free.
I’d like to encourage you today to embark upon a quest to know the truth. Respect your elders, parents, Pastor, and teacher, however take the time to study the truth. Know with all certainty that what you believe has a solid scriptural base and the light of the glorious Gospel will drive out all darkness perpetuated by lies.
Simple Reminders of who we are, what we have, and what we can do in Christ can empower us to overcome in virtually every area of life. Countless times in scripture we are commanded to remember. Remembering causes the current monsters we’re facing to shrink before our eyes.
Remembering that God is working in us, on us, around us and through us causes the believer to become bold as a lion. And remembering how our Heavenly Father has delivered us from situations and circumstances in our lives that at one point looked bleak, strengthens us to endure present circumstances knowing that the God of deliverance still lives.
